Leadership:

Following 26 years of active duty service, Pastor Rick Sowards retired from the United States Navy in November 2008 and answered the call on his life.  Serving on the Pastoral staff of the Pentecostals of Suffolk, Pastor Sowards served as the Sunday School Department Head, Home Missions  – Home Bible Study Department Head, Hospital ministry leader and assistant men’s department leader.

Following God’s call in 2014, Pastor Sowards was led to Franklin, VA to plant Turning Point Apostolic Ministry to bring the apostolic message and the Pentecostal experience to the people of South Hampton County Virginia.

A licensed Chaplin with the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ, Pastor Sowards and the first lady, Penny answered the call of God to bring the Apostolic message and Pentecostal experience to the people of Franklin and the surrounding Hampton Roads, VA areas.

Pastor Rick Sowards

As the pastor of Turning Point, Pastor Sowards is committed to delivering God’s word straight from the bible. He firmly believes in the immeasurable power of prayer and that preaching without anointing from God, is dead.

Every preacher needs a pastor.
